Ninaya Farm is an open canvas amongst the beautiful flora and fauna of the Macedon Ranges in Victoria. Our main space, The Gallery, with a floor area of 120 m2 is situated on a dam bank with panoramic views of the landscapes.
Ninaya Farm promises an unforgettable experience, whether you are hosting a day retreat, yoga session, book launch, art and photo exhibitions, music events, wine tasting, or any other occasion - limited only by your imagination.

Ninaya Farm is a special place, rich with family history. Located in Ashbourne just 70km N/W of Melbourne CBD, bordering the Wombat State Forest in the Macedon Ranges and with the Campaspe River flowing through its grounds. The Dja Dja Wurrung people are the Traditional Owners of this land where for thousands of years, they foraged, slept, fished and cared for the earth.
Matteo and Adriana purchased this special place in 1983 when it was merely a shed and an abundance of potential amongst the wild native landscape. Matteo and Adriana named the farm "Ninaya" - an aboriginal word meaning "Inner Peace" to pay respect to the Traditional Custodians who have a love and respect for the land, as did both their sets of parents who worked with the land in their native Italy. The word "Ninaya" was suggested to them when they met the famous Indigenous actor and musician, Tom E. Lewis, made famous by his starring role in the film "The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith". The name perfectly captures the essence of the farm, and celebrates a small part of family history as Adriana’s nickname happens to be ‘Nin’.
Over the years, Matteo and Adriana have been inspired to pursue and live out their dreams for this property, with the support of extended family.
It has been a constant labour of love, with Matteo at the helm, spearheading the planting of thousands of trees, the construction of workshops, sheds, gazebo, art gallery, entertainment spaces and much more. The property itself is a testament to creativity and sustainability, using recycled materials and reflecting the owners Italian heritage. It beautifully combines traditional Italian design elements - such as exquisitely decorated rooms and garden statues, paired with the rugged Australian landscape, home to ancient gum trees, kangaroos and kookaburras. The result is a unique blend of cultures and nature, a place that truly celebrates both worlds.
Ninaya Farm has been the backdrop for countless special moments - ceremonies of love and marriage, celebrations of life and all the in-between moments shared by a multigenerational family. Matteo and Adriana have done their best to respect and observe the land, listen to it and build on it to create a haven for you to enjoy today.
